It is a wonderful park located in the Swai Madaopur district of Rajasthan at the junction of Vindya and Aravali hill range. The Indian government established Ranthambore in the year 1955 as SM game sanctuary. This was declared as one of the project tiger reserves in the year 1973.  It received the national park status in the year 1980. In the year 1984, further developments took place and adjacent forests were declared as Kaladevi and Mansingh sanctuary respectively.  In the year 1991 both were fused together to form the Ranthambore tiger reserve. It is called Ranthambore Park because of the fort located inside and this has a historical significance.  The area of the sanctuary is whooping 500 sq miles and this park is a big belt of fauna and flora. In the north belt, there is Banas River and in the south belt there is river Chambal.  You have the good fortune to see many lakes, ruins of the old eras and this makes this sanctuary a blend of history, nature and wildlife. This place is best for the tiger population particularly famous for the royal Bengal tigers. You have some of the awesome animals, birds, reptiles in this park. You have also got plants and trees. Some of the animals that are common at this place are leopards, tigers, wild dogs, blue bulls, spotted deer, wild dogs, striped hyeina, deer, sloth bear, jungle cats, sambhar etc. You can refresh your eyes by the bird watching and you are fortunate enough to have 270 different bird species here.

There is no doubt about the fact that Ranthambore Park is a priceless wildlife hub. The beauty of the lush green trees in the jungle, amazing python and the marsh crocodile are worth to see.
