Gluey 2
“Gluey 2” is a fun Flash puzzle game that will be sure to please fans of games such as “Bejeweled,” “Bust-a-Move” and “Tetris.” Like each of these games, “Gluey 2” is a game that is easy for practically anyone to pick up and play and is insanely addictive.
Many puzzle games along the lines of “Gluey 2” tend to involve clicking on groups of objects and making them disappear, thus altering the playing field and hopefully creating more and bigger chains that should hopefully score the player more points. “Gluey 2” isn’t all that different. The groups of objects this time around are different-colored blobs that fall into a jar with each click. As like-colored blobs get close together, they combine into bigger blobs that can be destroyed with a click of the mouse. The object of each stage is to get rid of enough blobs to pass the level before the jar gets too full. It sounds incredibly simple, and it is for the most part. However, “simple” doesn’t always mean “easy.” Yes, even a small child can understand instructions such as “click on the big blobs with eyes to make them disappear,” but the game throws more than a few curve balls at players in later levels with things such as blobs that periodically change color, blocks that cause the colors of all the blobs to change randomly, “locks” that don’t drop like everything else, and bombs that destroy large groups of blobs. Obviously, some of these items will help you while others just make things more difficult. In any event, they definitely add some challenge to what would otherwise be a very easy game.
Like other games in its genre, “Gluey 2” is a fun puzzler that seems like a good way to kill some time. Just be careful not to let yourself get sucked in. Anyone who has spent way too much time playing the newest version of “Bejeweled” would know how addictive these games can get.
