The French car maker Renault is aggressively working day by day. After launching Renault Fluence sedan and Koleos SUV and testing Renault Modus in Chennai now this auto giant is planning to bring in Renault Duster a low priced SUV in India. It is rumored that this new SUV will hit Indian roads by the middle of next year following its launch. After the surprising Renault Duster Price in India of 23 lakh for Renault Koleos ,the company is expected to put Renault Duster Price in the range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 10 lakh for entering in to the segment dynamically.
It is quoted that new Renault Duster specifications will include both petrol and diesel engine comprising 1.5 liter dci engine and 1.6 liter petrol engine that generate 85/105 bhp of peak power. it is affirmed from close sources that Renault plans to make India a complete manufacturing hub for Renault Duster and export it globally from here only. According to the details available it is said that for the company, India being Asia’s third largest automobile maker and second fastest growing market after china is full of opportunities. The car will be provided in both 4×2 and 4×4 version for India and UK. However for UK the car might have some cosmetic changes in looks.
Apart from this the company is aiming to make South Africa the next export terminal after India, as Mahindra is exporting its SUVs there, though nothing seems to be final as of now. Along with the Duster the company is planning to bring in some small cars based on V platform later on.
Ashish Sinharoy, Vice-President (Communications & corporate affairs) at Renault India has not denied the possibility of exporting India made cars to its globally network. If this report is genuine then the Renault India would be the first automaker that exports SUV from the country. Currently Hyundai and Suzuki motors use their Indian plants to export small cars outside.
