Learning a foreign language:One mans journey

Studying a foreign language definitely should not be as complex as it is given all the technology we now have at our disposal in this age of micro-electronics. I travel routinely for business and often times it is to a foriegn country. I have found myself in need of some serious multi-lingual capabilities but have struggled to locate a quality technique to build those quickly and competently.

My first effort at language learning was Rosetta Stone. It seemed like the logical decision, it additionally appeared to be the only program anyone I knew had ever heard of for Language Learning. I will say this for Rosetta Stone, their interface genuinely is attractive. Unfortunately their language learning method continues to be very little more than a glorified flash card automation. I found myself unable to preserve the knowledge for longer than several weeks and eventually tried to refund the product, only to be advised that wasn’t an option.

In frustration I purchased a handful of publications on Amazon hoping to atleast obtain the basics for my goal languages. It was when I attained them that I discovered just exactly how crucial hearing a native speaker was to the program. I once again found myself hitting a brickwall. I decided the only logical thing to do was to burrow in and study every review I could find on the web in regards to language learning material.

Luckily for me there was a great deal of information readily available from even a basic google search. After weeks of exhaustive research I grew to become painfully aware of the fact that learning a foreign language is just not going to be fast, or easy. It’s going to require hard work and serious dedication. I additionally discovered that there are very few online shops specializing in language learning materials in particular, and of the few I contacted only one of them actually had a robust collection of media based language learning tools. The website I ended up ordering the materials from that really enabled me to learn was MultilingualBooks.com, and I genuinely reccomend them if you need a specific language learning paroduct.

I think the best thing about thier approach is that in addition to the physical product, they also have quite a few digital downloads. There is nothing less complicated or more fulfilling than to start learning 15 minutes after you make your purchase. To be honest I am a little surprised there aren’t more shops focusing on this market. I feel fortunate to have stumbled upon MultilingualBooks.com and I am grateful to the many language learners out there that were compelled to write about their experiences in an effort to aid others. They have inspired me to write about my experience as well in exactly the same hopes of helping others in finding the resources they need to seriously develop their language horizons.
