How To Recruit Affiliates – Best Tips For Recruiting Affiliates
How to recruit affiliates?
There are three different ways.
Some of the best affiliates can be customers, so when people join the site, I show them that there’s an affiliate program with it and you have to lead people, show them they can make money with it, so I give them as many tools as possible.
I show them the best way to promote, different methods to promote.
And if somebody’s happy with your product, chances are they’re going to tell somebody about it anyway.
Being in the internet marketing world, a lot of customers could be people with lists as well, so if I can make them happy and turn them into an affiliate, chances are they can promote to their list as well.
It also helps to have a good payout for your affiliates. Make sure your affiliates get rewarded for their efforts, so the offer I have – I actually give away 100% commissions to people.
That’s a great way to get people motivated because they get to promote and they get to keep all of the sales and it gets paid directly to their PayPal account.
And then I make some money on the backend, but for me it’s a great source of advertising, because I’m getting buyers on my list, people exposed to my products, and it doesn’t actually cost me a penny, because the affiliates are doing the work and getting all the money, so it’s like free reviews for me.
But otherwise, in terms of me getting bigger names like JV partners or bigger affiliates, the key to that is really to just build relationships first and try to help people.
There are people I’ve met that do events, networking – could be very powerful. And people whose products I promoted.
I’ve never even asked them to promote mine, but because I promoted for them and they’ve seen good results from me, when the day comes and I say, “Hey, I have this product coming out. I think it’d be really good if you’d fit. I promoted you in the past and had great results, so, would you be interested?”
And chances are, it’s going to give me a more positive response than just going to somebody who never heard of me before and saying, “Will you promote my stuff?” and just ask them for something.
So, build relationships first, give first, and then try and ask for something in return later.
Matt: Okay, in terms of 100% commission, if someone asks for a refund, how do you give them a refund?
Richard: With the refund, it’s up to the person they paid to.
When affiliates sign up they agree to the terms and conditions, which is to honor any refund requests.
And then, if they don’t, then we can ban them. I’ve never had to, but if it got to the point where somebody came to me and said, “Look, your affiliate’s not refunding me” I would probably just refund them myself, just out of – as a good gesture of trying to make them happy, and obviously ban that affiliate.
Make sure they can’t promote again.
