Mahindra XUV 500 review, specs and feature

Mahindra has launched its Mahindra XUV 500 SUV at the Mahindra’s Chakan facility near Pune. Mahindra XUV 500 adorns with well-finished exteriors and classy look to mark the distinction from the rest of models from the Mahindra’s stable. The SUV is launched as a 4×2 variant to place the Mahindra XVV 500 price competitively. The new Mahindra XUV 500 Price in India starts at Rs 10.8 lakh. The much hyped SUV will target the rivals like Tata Aria and Tata Merlin in the Indian car market. Apart from the Indian launch, the Mahindra XUV 500 has been launched in the South African market as well.

Following the foot-steps of Tata Motors, Mahindra and Mahindra has launched the SUV as a 4×2 variant to increase the sales volumes. However, the auto major has plans to introduce the SUV as a 4×4 variant in near future. In order to avoid the cannibalization, Mahindra and Mahindra has placed the Mahindra XUV 500 price just above the top variant of the Mahindra Scorpio price. Mahindra XUV 500 review shows that the SUV is offered based on the Monocoque design for the first time from the Mahindra’s fleet of cars. The Monocoque design explains the car-built, which has the body of the car well-placed on the chassis to render as a single piece. This is an old construction method implemented by many other auto manufacturers, however used by M&M for the first time. Mahindra XUV 500 is the product of domestic engineering from the Mahindra’s own manufacturing facility taking the customers’ feedback into consideration. The manufacturing of the SUV took around 4 years beginning with global testing, validation and production to stand as the epitome of engineering. In order to create the hype around the launch, M&M Vice-chairman and MD has created the suspense by launching a ‘Guess the date’ contest.

The Mahindra XUV 500 specification reveal a 2.2 liter Common Rail Turbodiesel engine under the hood that keep the capacity to churn out a peak power of 140 Bhp and a top torque of 326 Nm. The engine is well-mated with the 6-speed manual gearbox. The other models offered by Mahindra and Mahindra in India are Mahindra Xylo, Mahindra Xylo Mini, Mahindra Verito, Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra Thar.
