B.C. teen killed in stabbing on Surrey bus
A Surrey, B.C., teenager who was stabbed on a bus early Saturday morning has died in hospital of his injuries.
Police say Jamie Kehoe was stabbed in the neck during an altercation on a bus at the corner of 72nd Avenue and 128th Street just after midnight. He died later in hospital.
The teen’s mother, Tammy Kehoe, says her son was stabbed by another man on the bus, and collapsed onto a friend.
“He was grabbing her and gasping and when he fell, he fell on her and she started screaming for somebody to call the cops, call 911.”
While reports initially indicated Kehoe was a Good Samaritan who was stabbed while trying to intervene in a fight between two women on the bus, his parents say it was Kehoe’s friend who stepped in.
“He doesn’t deserve this. He doesn’t like altercations. He keeps to himself … I picture when the knife came out — he was probably scared,” said Jay Kehoe,sacs louis vuitton the teen’s dad.
“He didn’t do anything. He didn’t saw a word. He was probably terrified — and now he’s gone.”
In an interview before her son died in hospital, Tammy Kehoe described him as a well-liked teenager with a lot of friends.
“He’s amazing, he’s sarcastic, he’s funny, he loves skateboarding. He’s harmless,” she said. “He’s a genuinely good kid. He’s got the biggest heart. He would never hurt anybody. He an amazing kid, an amazing young man,” she said.
“Anybody who knows Jamie is, I’m sure, very touched right now … he’s got a lot of people that love and adore him.”
Kehoe is asking anyone with information about what happened to her son to call police.
“Somebody had to have seen something, someone must know him [the suspect],” she said. “Somebody has to know something, somebody has to help find him — he’s running around free.”
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the investigation.
Police are looking for two people who fled the scene of the stabbing on foot, described only as a woman and a tall black man.
