DC motors

At the heart of most mass produced electric motor systems is a   DC Gear Motor
. These are simply a combination of a DC electric motor and a gearbox . The idea of making a gear motor is conceived whenever a gearbox & dc electric motor manufacturer decide that there is a need for them, due to repeat & similar orders from companies, all requesting the same thing. A forward thinking company will then manufacture a gearmotor, a static amalgamation of the desired gearbox & dc electric motor.

There are two main types of electric motors.  alternating current or AC motors. The reference of DC or AC refers to how the electrical current is transferred through and from the motor. Both types of motors have different functions and uses. Dc motors come in two general types. They can have brushes or be brushless. AC motors, as well, come in two different types. They can be two phase or three phase. The differences in DC and AC motors are sometimes subtle, but these differences are what make one types better for a certain use.

They’re used for a lot, Brushless DC Servo Motor is used for a variety of applications, as well as the ones mentioned at the top, they’re most common usage nowadays is within the IT industry. If you’re reading this on a desktop computer, there’s probably at least 3 near you! (one in the hard drive, one in the CD/DVD drive, and one in the PC cooling fan). That’s the low end usage, whereas the high end users are items such as hybrid cars. All in all, Brushless DC Motors are here to stay!
