The name of ball valves

Ball valves, one type of quarter turn valve, is quite literally a ball placed in a passageway through which fluid flows. The ball has a hole through it, by which the valve opens and closes. When the ball is positioned so that the hole runs the same direction as the passageway, the fluid simply flows through the hole, and the valve is open. However, when the ball is positioned so that the hole is perpendicular to the passageway, the fluid cannot pass through, and the valve is closed. The ball is controlled from outside the valve, often with a handle that is turned 90 degrees, or a quarter turn, back and forth to open and close the valve.

The name is a little misleading because unlike most valves and the general perception of valves there is no handle. This means it looks nothing like what anyone expects a valve to look like, so they are often missed. Sump pump check valves prevent backflow of water, or any liquid for that matter, in the line. This prevention is crucial to having the pump work correctly. Obviously, with out sump pump check valves the water could flow in either direction instead of just the desired direction which is outside.

Parallel gate valves too can be classified into single and double plate types. Another type of it consists of those which regulate the flow of fluid. However, it is rarely used for the regulation purposes due to the fear of damage. You must guide your customers about the safety and maintenance of it to exhibit your expertise in these products. In order to obtain different gate valve models, you can find the listings of reputed manufacturers at online business directories.
