Import AVCHD camcorder footages to FCP for editing

Before you buy a new AVCHD camcorder, you hope someone walk you through the steps of getting the video from the camcorder into FCP. And YouTube teaching video often shares some useful video on software application, and you may see this teaching video like this:

Plug in your camera, bring up the Log & Capture Transfer window.

Preparation: Plug in your camera and save MTS video on the hard drive.

Step 1: Add MTS/M2TS files

Have downloaded and run AVCHD Converter for Mac already? Then open main interface and click Add Files for adding MTS files.

Step 2: Output Settings

As you can see the main window shows up. Click Profile and you have to select your prefer output video format.

Step 3: Edit Videos

Clip: Shrink an AVCHD video size or cut video into small clips

Edit: Crop plays area, adjust video frame effects, preview the video files, etc for editing AVCHD videos

Merge: Join a couple of camera clips or merge different files into one.

Settings: Next to the pull-down menu of Profile and adjust the Resolution, Frame rate, Encoder and Bit rate of AVCHD files.

Step 4. Conversion.

When all the presets and edit done, hit the “Start” to undertake the converting progress.Then, you can upload the converted files to fcp and edit avchd to fcp.
