Christmas Cards making a Comeback
Christmas cards have almost become a thing of the past with e-greetings and all the new improvements in faster, easier, and cheaper technology. Now you can send greetings from your smartphone!
Some people find it easier to send their Christmas cards via e-mail. That may be okay for some, but to those who do not have access to the new skills of technology in their home may find themselves longing for a Christmas card to show up in their outside mailbox instead of the inside email inbox.
Christmas cards for years were used not only for the enjoyment of receiving those personal little gifts during the holiday season, but many people displayed them as a part of their overall Christmas decorations – from placing them above the mantle to hanging them from clothesline. It was an old time tradition to show off one’s cards to their friends.
Is it possible Christmas cards because we miss that personal touch? That handwritten signature, with possibly a personal note slipped inside the card, still means something in the digital age.
It means someone who cares whether or not we have a happy Christmas has taken the time to sit down and personally let us know they care.
If you have friends or family members, and you really wish to see them have a meaningful Christmas, take the time to personally send them that wish – you’ll be glad you did and they’ll most certainly appreciate the thought.
Send them a personal touch directly from your hand to theirs. Who knows? They might hang it on their Christmas tree, or from a doorway right above that greeting card-killing computer in the living room.
It may even encourage the receivers to mail personal Christmas cards to their friends and family members the next year.
And wouldn’t it be nice if you found a personal touch, a Christmas card, in your mailbox this year?
