kids Tantrums and Adult temper
I wish there was a cure for kid’s tantrums. But just like for an adult it’s very hard to control their anger the same way it is for child. So is parental fury because of kid’s tantrums justified? fury has the power to take full control of your mind and you are not able to think straight and when this fury is directed towards a son it can be very devastating for him.
fury which mostly consists of verbal abuse can be more harmful for child than physical abuse because that impression remains in their mind forever. Getting verbally abused by parents, whom they consider their role model, can be very degrading for them. Most of us model our habits as a parent on the nature of our mothers toward us, but in fact as a parent you have the opportunity to undo all the wrong that was done to you.
There could many reasons for your fury. Most of the times it’s in reaction to your kid’s tantrums. But thinks about it can you stop a tantrum with another tantrum? When we get angry as parents we also yell and shout at the top of our voice, we also threaten the children with dire consequences if he doesn’t do what we want. So how are we different than what the toddler is doing? Isn’t he also doing the same thing? The other reasons for our temper could be many other frustrations in life like frustration at work, problems in marriage, financial problems, etc. So when we return home at the end of the day and our kids keeps some demands in front of us which we can’t fulfill we burst out on him and unknowingly vent out all our anger on him. So all folks need to evaluate their rage.
Studies have shown children whose parents don’t have control over their rage are very hard to discipline. When your children sees that you burst out in anger at slight provocation they think this is right because remember a kids always imitates his parents. Your little ones might be a very strenuous little ones to handle but the point is does your temper improve him or change his behavior? I am sure your answer is no; so in that case why not try few different approach.anything that would have a positive influence on your child and at the same time changes his attitude.
