Two used VW car awards – Check!
If you are looking for a quality used VW Passat in Suffolk then you will be glad to hear that Volkswagen has just received two awards for its used cars. What Car? has awarded the 2006 Passat in the estate range and the 2006 Volkswagen Golf TDI has won the best green car award. These awards go a long way in reassuring buyers that VW cars are still one of the most reliable and well built cars.
The What Car? awards are decided by a panel of experts from a different parts of the motor industry, judges came from car dealerships, auction houses and of course What Car? magazine too.
The VW Passat was launched in 2006 and is available as a saloon and estate, a coupe model called the Passat CC is also available. In 2010 Volkswagen gave the Passat a facelift to bring it in line with its other models. Changes we made to the exterior panels of the car which resulted in new external panels except for the roof and glasshouse.
The Passat is available with a choice of six engines, 3 petrol and 3 diesel units. The entry level petrol engine is a 1.4 litre turbo charged and supercharged (TSI) with 120 bhp, followed by a 1.8 litre TSI with 158 bhp and the largest petrol unit – a 1.0 litre TDI with 207 bhp. The diesel range is made up of a 2.0 litre unit with either 138 or 168 bhp and a 1.6 litre TDI with 104 bhp.
The VW Golf TDi comes with a 1.6 litre TDI engine, which is the model that won the What Car? award. It has a power rating of 104 bhp and can do 0-62mph in 11.3 seconds and has a top speed of 119 miles per hour.
