‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 7: Barney turns it around
We saw a rather unusual situation play out on “How I Met Your Mother” Monday night — despite having just about everything possible go against Barney, he still somehow managed to make his night with Nora a good one.
This was an interesting for a variety of reasons (including Barney’s comedy of errors with his new girlfriend), but the first thing really worth talking about was seeing Kal Penn’s character of Kevin really start to come into his own. His scenes with Ted and Robin this week were hysterical, mainly in that they showed his character is both crazy and logical at the same time — a weird combination for a shrink to be.
As for the other major plot, seein most of the gang envision their partner as their mother or father was a bit of a strange choice, and it was obviously one of those situations where Ted’s narrative (which tends to distort things versus how they may have actually happened) blew a few things out of proportion. Nonetheless, it was nice to see Marshall and Lily realize this sort of thing ultimately didn’t matter.
