Business Card Printing: Making the Other Side Interesting
Have you attended a business event or tradeshow and noticed that while people were taking your neighbor’s business cards your own cards were left sleeping on your table? Just what made the other cards more interesting than your own business card printing?
Why don’t you take one of your cards and look at it . . . hard. Start in front and slowly flip it around. What did you notice? Okay, perhaps you were only noticing all the good things about your card. Why don’t you take one of the cards of the businesses next to you at the event? Again, carefully scrutinize it. It can perhaps have the same good points as you have in your cards. But try looking at the back side. Now, that’s where things can look a bit different.
A standard business card is only 3.5 inches by 2 inches in size. That little space can only accommodate a few details, but that doesn’t mean that you only incorporate your contact information on your card. If you do that, your business card will simply look like a contact card. But if you want your cards to compete with the other cards out there, you have to make them fascinating. You can do all that on the flip side of your card.
There are a variety of ways you can do at the back. The most important is printing valuable information on it. This can be any of the following:
– Discount coupon. You can print a small coupon at the back to encourage your target audience to check out your store and make a purchase if they want to take advantage of the discount. It will be best if you put a deadline on the coupons to create a sense of urgency.
– Office hours. New customers will always want to know your hours of operation so they will know the best time for them to contact you, especially during holidays or weekends.
– Price lists. Some customers will always look for the price list. They will want to immediately know whether your offerings are fit to their budget. Printing them at the back will help them easily decide about your offerings.
– Images. You can always print an image of your top product or your place of business at the back. This will make your card look more attractive and interesting.
– Tips and ideas. Providing customers with some tips and ideas which can be useful to them will surely be appreciated. It will be best to print them in bullet form so the back side doesn’t get overloaded with texts.
– Menu. If you are a restaurant business, you can print your top specialty at the back. This will encourage people to try your cooking.
– Emergency numbers. Writing the emergency numbers in your area is one way of ensuring that people keep your card.
– A little background or history. You can always print a brief bio at the back of your business card templates to give people an idea of your credentials and qualifications.
– Testimonials. You can get feedbacks from previous customers and print them at the back. This is a great way to tell people how impressive your business is.
It’s easy and affordable enough to print on both sides of your business card these days. Remember that the simple but valuable things you put at the back can mean the difference between getting the customer or not, so make sure to put enough attention on the flip side of your business card.
