First time HLL binds up with IGNOU for healthcare education
HLL Life Ltd. has attached with the Indira Gandhi National Open University (Ignou) to inaugurate two courses in clinical and management, a announcement said on 12th Nov 2011.
HLL said it determined to enter the education zone at a time when country is of short of experienced professionals in the healthcare management zone.
The company has proposed a new section named HLL Academy to begin the two courses: Post Graduate Diploma Courses in Clinical Engineering and Management (PGDCEM) and Post Diploma Courses in Clinical Engineering and Management (PDCEM). The courses will start from January 2012.
The Courses, having two semesters of six months each, will be detained in distance education mode with contact classes. The prospectus has been deliberated to accomplish the rations of healthcare institutions.
HLL CMD M. Ayyappan said, this is for the first time, such courses are launched in the country and we plan to create a separate not-for profit educational institutions.
The other programmes in the pipeline by the academy are in the areas of social marketing and good manufacturing practices. It also plans to launch M.Tech and MBA programmes.
