Something to note from the press release is that Jayne Atkinson is back as Section Chief Director Erin Strauss in this Criminal Mind seasons. She was last seen in the season premiere, “It Takes a Village,” as the team faced a hearing for their actions involving Ian Doyle. In the end, she offered Prentiss a job back with the team, but warned everyone that they will be watched—closely—after their actions. Could she be returning because of something related to that, or will it have to do with the case? This does sound like it will be a high-profile one since it involves those at a military academy. Perhaps she’s the one to pass the case onto Hotch. What happened at that military academy?Meanwhile, you have to wonder which team member is possibly “in jeopardy” that leads to Hotch and Morgan on opposite sides. What’s going to happen with this case? How will it end up with someone in danger? Could that somehow not be related to the case? Considering it’s hard to figure out how else danger could enter into the equation, it doesn’t seem likely it’s not. Could the investigation lead to putting one of their own in the line of fire somehow? It’s not too surprising that Hotch and Morgan are going to “butt heads” since they both have such strong, stubborn personalities, but who will end up coming out the victor of that disagreement?
