The main Diabetes Symptoms

Diabetes symptoms can be overlooked by many people, so it is very important for everyone to keep an eye on what your body is trying to tell you. There are two forms of diabetes known so far: type 1 and type 2. The Diabetes symptoms in both type 1 and 2 are similar, glucose is absent from the body cells but it is present in the blood. In type 1 diabetes the big amount of glucose in the blood is caused by the missing insulin, because the insulin producing cells have been destroyed. In type 2 diabetes the body cells will resist the insulin produced by the insulin cells.

In both types the body is not getting glucose and when that happens you’ll start having a few symptoms and signs that raise an exclamation mark. One of the Diabetes symptoms would be the fact that suddenly you will drink a lot of water and you will find yourself running to the bathroom very frequently. If insulin is not present or it is ineffective, the kidneys are not able to filter the glucose back into the blood. The overwhelmed kidneys will be constantly drawing water from the blood trying to dilute the glucose, so one of the main Diabetes symptoms is an unquenchable thirst.

Another one of the Diabetes symptoms is the fact that you are loosing weight without trying. This usually occurs in Type 1 Diabetes when the pancreas stops producing insulin, the pancreas cells have gone through a viral attack, or it is also highly possible an autoimmune cells attack the insulin producing cells. This is one of the Diabetes symptoms in which the body is desperately looking for a source of energy and it will starts breaking down muscle and fat tissue.

In Type 2 Diabetes the person is not losing weight as noticeable as in Type 1 Diabetes because of the artificial supply of insulin. Another one of the Diabetes symptoms is weakness and fatigue. Because of lack of insulin in the blood, that helps it transition into the body cells to produce energy for the body, the body will not be having an energy supply anymore, because of the missing insulin, or the cells are not reacting to it anymore.

The result is a tired and worn out body. Another one of the Diabetes symptoms is numbness or a tingling feeling in the hands or legs. The high level of glucose in the blood will affect the nervous system and it’s called neuropathy. In Type 2 Diabetes the sugar in the blood could be high for several yeas without it being noticed and in this case the nerves can be damaged without the person even is aware of it.

People who are diagnosed with it will be put on a Diabetes diet immediately. In a Diabetes diet healthy eating is crucial, that means no foods that are high in sugar. Smaller portions are recommended, meaning they need to eat more than three times a day and carbohydrates will always have to be counted in a Diabetes diet and of course, vegetables, fruits, whole-grain foods are recommended, foods with less fat, limited alcohol consumption and small amounts of salt. People diagnosed with Diabetes will have to be on a Diabetes diet for the rest of their lives.

The diabetes symptoms are very hard to live with. That is why you will be put on diabetes diet immediately after being diagnosed.
