Mild Cognitive Impairment Explained
Mild cognitive impairment, or MCI for short, takes a toll on the affected person’s ability to be able to remember things and to be able to vocalize/communicate their thoughts. It may be a precursor to more severe diseases like Alzheimer’s or dementia, but isn’t classified as severe.
MCI may start off as just being forgetful. Everyone has their forgetful moments, right? However, if these moments seem to happen more and more, you might be an early candidate for mild cognitive impairment.
Repeating signs of forgetfulness isn’t the only symptom associated with MCI. High blood pressure that leads to hypertension, diabetes, heart problems, irregular mood swings, and even not being able to smell are all signs that you might have MCI.
Luckily, even being diagnosed with MCI doesn’t mean it is the end of the world for you. There are many things that you can do right away that will surely having you see marked improvements.
