Staying in the local hotels in Istanbul, you want to participate in daily activities close to the hotel in which you are staying in. The one attraction that everyone seems to be interested in is the Spice Market. The locals of Istanbul know the spice market as Misir Carsisi. The market was first opened in the 1600’s and has remained open ever since. You will be able to find more than just spices here as there are a number of crafts and dried fruits here as well. If you want to be up close with the people and observe, you will want to look into the spice market while on your vacation.
The one thing that most people do not know about when travelling to Istanbul is the Suleymaniye Bath. This is part of a ritual or society that has been enjoyed by tourists and locals for centuries. In most parts around the world, the baths are separated by men participating in one and women participating in another. Here, you are allowed to be in them together which creates for a great holiday when travelling as a family. This is uncommon and highly unlikely in most other locations.
The Sea of Marmara is located off from the Istanbul Asian shore. The area is a collection of 9 islands that make for an excellent trip. You can participate in a day trip of the Princes Islands which consist of a number of hilltop chapel locations and Victorian villages. You will be able to take a small ferry trip as well which is a great way to travel from one island to another. What you get here on the Princes islands is the peace and quiet that most travellers do not get when travelling. This alone is one reason why you want to visit the location while travelling. There are no cars or automobiles allowed here so therefore, the only means of getting around is by carriages pulled by horses and bicycles. This helps you to create a whole new experience when travelling to a foreign place. You will be able to visit the region everyday as it is open year round and the cost is free so therefore, you can spend a day out that does not cost a whole lot other than what you find while on your excursion trip. Enjoy a day out from all the hustle and bustle going on around hotels in Istanbul and when you are done at the islands, simply return the hotel for a night in.
The important thing is to remember that when you are travelling, you do not want to simply sit in your hotel but to enjoy the sights of the area. In Istanbul, there are numerous sights to see with something for everyone to do or enjoy while on your vacation.
