Looking After Your Omega and Michele Watches
Plenty of people like to collect high-end timepieces such as Michele or Omega watches. These products are top quality pieces that endure the test of time, which is why more and more people opt to buy such items. Should you be a collector of products like Michele watches, surely you would like your pieces to appear their finest at all times. While these kinds of watches will work for many years, they might not look as amazing as they did when you initially purchased them. For this reason you should know good care for your very own investment timepieces.
What makes pieces like Michele or Omega watches special is definitely the quality of materials applied in creating them. Most of these watches use scratch-resistant mineral crystal outer shell, with various other details including gold frames and diamond studs added to the item. Although all these materials are well-known for durability just as much as they are for their luxury, they might still look worn out very easily with incorrect use and care. Lucky for you, you will not need something special to take care of your pieces – just a few basic items to thoroughly clean your collection.
Before you begin the cleaning process, check your watches are water-resistant. You will observe marks on the watch recommending just how much water pressure it could handle. Michele watches can take about 5 ATM or the corresponding water pressure at 165 feet underwater, while Omega pieces can take at least double this pressure. Not all watches are water-resistant so make sure you look at the back of the watch for an inscription.
Get sponges or perhaps a soft lint-free cloth. Paper towels might cause scratches in case you aren’t too careful, so using lint-free cloth will be your best option. Put your watches on the cloth face up and cover or take off the wrist band of your watch in case it is a leather band. If it’s not a leather band, or any material which might bear damage from exposure to water, you might like to leave it on for cleaning as well.
Get your glass cleaner of preference and spray it on the face of the watch. Give it time to sit there for awhile as the glass cleaning agent does the job on your behalf. It’ll lift up dirt particles as well as other deposits in order to make scrubbing it simpler later on. Meanwhile, get an old soft brush and spray it with glass cleaning agent too. After letting the cleanser loosen the dirt around the crystals for several minutes, brush it gently with the soft toothbrush up until you finish taking away all of the impurities.
After brushing, take your watch and place it under flowing water for a minute to wash off the glass cleaner. If the watch isn’t waterproof, wipe it using a moist cloth to remove the formula. Lay it right down to dry, polish it, and place the strap back on if you removed it. Make sure to do this again every few weeks to help keep your timepieces.
Your high-end watches can look terrific once again every time you wash it. The good thing is you don’t have to spend much on maintenance. Using a few basic items you will get in your own home, you may make these investment pieces look new as long as they last.
