Top Tips to prepare Kim Chi

Kim Chi is a basic staple of Korean cuisine. It is a delicious and highly nutritious food. Essential Kim Chi Recipe:
Ingredients:
• Take about 4lbs. of chopped Chinese cabbage
• Take 1/4 cup salt
• Take 1 cup green onions, and chop thickly
• Take 1 cup carrots, and piece finely
• Take 4 tbsp ground red pepper
• Take 1 tsp garlic, minced
Optional Kim Chi Ingredients:
• Scallions
• Daikon radish
• Turnips
• 1 tsp sugar
• 1 tsp freshly ground ginger
• Bok choy
• Season (dried fish powder, etc.) to taste
Instructions:
• Toss slowly the chopped cabbage having it mixed with the salt.
• Continue tossing until well-mixed.
• After that, set the mixture aside for 45 minutes to an hour.
• When well-mixed or after this duration, rinse the mixture with cold water. Rinsing will remove and drain the excess salt.
• Then, cabbages are to be evenly mixed with the carrots, onions, red pepper and garlic.
• Then, use a gallon jar to put everything into it and use a weight on top; make sure that you have sealed it securely.
• Now, you have to wait for a week in order to allow fermentation.
• You might have to skim the liquid because this liquid may develop for scum apparently.
Some Important Tips:
Make sure that you have used only quality ingredients in the preparation. Bear in mind, Kimchee involves fermentation, but this doesn’t mean in any way that the essential ingredients should not be original. If you use fresh ingredients and good spices, you will have interesting taste in it. If a Kimchee dish is prepared attentively, it will surpass taste of any other dishes.
Basic Kim Chi requires mixing the above said ingredients, though there are many other recipe types. But, the basic ingredient is Cabbage. You might change other ingredients to customize the recipe and to suit the recipe with your taste. There might be variations in applying ingredients in contrary to the ingredients as listed in the optional section. You may add other spices and more finely chopped vegetables in order to gain more taste and flavor. When you serve Kimchee to your guests, don’t forget to serve it with anything tasteful such as fish, shrimp, pork or oysters. You can also serve it with Tofu.
