A great asset to the Sierra Wireless USBConnect-881 is that it automatically installs Communication Manager the first time it is used with Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, or Vista. This removes the need for an installation CD, while also providing a plug and play experience.
It takes advantage of AT&T’s 3G HSPA Broadband connect wireless network to allow its users to send and receive emails and access the internet. Upload speeds are in access of 800 Kbps while downloads speeds reach as much as 1.4Mbps. The only drawback is that if one is traveling overseas, one must first call AT&T to get international roaming added to the account. This is not a con per se, but should be kept in mind as to avoid any unwanted lockouts.
