Navigating the potential purchasing nightmare that buying a Loft in Toronto presents

Have you considered purchasing a loft apartment in Toronto? Before considering all the extras that can be included with such apartments, it’s crucial to know some of the standard features that they usually have. Here are some of them:

1. Balcony

While this feature isn’t necessary “standard” with loft apartments, it’s quiet considering that lofts are themselves located above the ground floor. If you want a bird’s eye view of Toronto (or just part of it), then consider choosing a loft apartment with a balcony. While it might not quite be large enough for hosting a party, it can certainly give you the ability to step outdoors for some fresh air and a scenic view. Yes, a loft apartment with a balcony will have a higher price tag. That said, it’s certainly worthwhile if you consider the value it can provide.

2. Bathrooms

This is one of the features that are typically standard with Toronto lofts. Since a loft apartment is approximately the size of a studio apartment, usually it includes one bathroom. However, depending on the type of loft apartment you choose, you can also find loft apartments that contain two bathrooms. Typically the number of bathrooms that a loft apartment has will be proportional to the size of the apartment, and the number of bedrooms it contains. So while the size of loft apartments is somewhat limited, you probably won’t have to worry about them having too few bathrooms.

3. Bedroom

Finding a loft apartment with a bedroom won’t be a problem. Even studio apartments that don’t have a bedroom per se have enough space for a bed or mattress. However, you can even find loft apartments that have two, three, or even four bedrooms. Yes, the rent will be higher when you select a loft with more than one bedroom. But multiple bedrooms might be necessary depending on your particular housing needs. The bottom line is that it’s crucial to choose an apartment with the right number of rooms for your needs.

4. Furniture

While 100% of apartments aren’t furnished with furniture, many of them are. Yes, the cost of such lofts will be higher due to the convenience of their being furnished. Is it worthwhile? It is if you don’t want to go through the rigamarole of finding and buying your own furniture. This isn’t to say that you’ll definitely be satisfied with the furniture in a particular loft. However, it gives you fewer things to worry about when you move into a new loft apartment. That’s a good thing. In particular, you should consider how long you play to stay in a particular loft. If it’s going to be a short-term stay, then you should definitely consider the benefit of semi-furnished or fully-furnished loft apartments.

5. Parking

This is another feature that is often “standard” with loft apartments. Parking facilities aren’t available with every single apartment available in Toronto. That said, it’s certainly one of the most common features that are available for loft apartments. Also, if you have a vehicle then it’s highly unlikely that you’ll be planning to park it in your apartment. So parking facilities would basically be a must.
