Successful Preparation for GED Practice Test
GED stands for Growth Education Development. This test is designed by American Council on Education. This test constitutes of five subjects and applicants skills are required to clear the entire subjects in order to get through this exam. On the successful completion of this test, aspirants are allowed to pursue for graduation or diploma degree.
Purpose of organizing GED Test
It is the fact that many of the students are not able to achieve high school diploma degree because of their private reasons. So, it becomes impossible for them to apply for the high level education without having the high school diploma. So, in order to make it possible for them to join the higher education programs, ACE designed such a test that can measure their academic knowledge and the capable candidate can move for further studies.
Students are required to give 5 exams including, writing, reading, social studies, science and mathematics.
Math- In this exam, applicants are asked 50 questions that are based on geometry, algebra and probability. Basically this test is divided in two parts and 25 questions are asked in each part of the test. Candidates can use calculator only in one section of the examination.
Writing- In this portion of the exam, 50 multiple choice questions are asked in the exam and also applicants are given 1 essay to write.
Reading- In this section of the test, aspirants are asked 40 questions under the head poetry, prose non fiction and fiction passages. Around 75% of the total questions are based on passages. Candidates are given 45 minutes to solve the paper.
Social Studies- This portion of the test mainly covers history, geography, government and economics. Total 50 numbers of questions are asked and time limit for contenders to solve the paper is 70 minutes.
Science- Under this head of the test, aspirants are asked 50 numbers of multiple choice questions that are based on chemistry, life science, earth and space science.
The candidates are evaluated on the scale between 200 and 800. In order to clear the test applicants are required to score 450 or above.
Eligibility Criteria
Students are required to fulfill the eligibility criteria in order to get the permission to sit in the exam. It is as follows:
• Age of the candidate must be atleast 16
• Must possess the middle school certificate
• Should not be a criminal or an anti social element
It is the fact that GED is a recognized test. Around 98% of the total colleges and universities in USA approves GED test.
