Why is it Important to Call for Professional London Carpet Cleaning Service?

Carpet cleaning in EC1 is pretty much a necessity a couple of times a year. There’s been so much money channeled into our outside spaces that it’s no wonder the children get muddy from playing outside.

We like Compton Park a lot, simply because we walk past it on the way home from school; the kids can run around without having to worry about stepping in dog poo, which makes it a great place for me too! Still, by the time we come home there are grass stains and blobs of mud all over them. Of course all of that ‘outside’ comes in and is dumped on the carpets.

As we walk through the front door, quite often, they just run straight through the house and into the back garden to carry on covering themselves in mud. While I clean up after them, and give the hall carpet a quick clean, they’re back outside getting even dirtier – it’s the job of being a kid!

What with the parks and gardens around here, it’s a fantastic place to bring children up. Quite often we go down to St Luke’s Centre at the weekend. We ‘found’ it a few months ago after one of their EC1 Community Gardening project planting sessions, where we learnt to clean up the garden properly, plant bulbs and make hanging baskets. It was a fabulous session, so now we go and help clean the gardens sometimes, and we grow food in one of their small ‘food growing plots’. When we come back from St Luke’s, we’re all a big mess. Clothes are dumped everywhere and the house is in desperate need of a clean.

I feel awful for our carpets. They really put up with a lot, but I do take care of them. For many years, I couldn’t have given two hoots about the carpets, but then we got new carpets and the guy told me all about how the carpet can only deal with a certain amount of abuse. He said that carpet pile has a capacity, and when it has too much grit in it, the carpet starts falling apart from the inside. He told me that if I vacuumed the new carpets once every couple of days and had the carpets steam-cleaned by any good London carpet cleaning service provider once or twice year then the carpet would last us far longer than the old ones.

We love the outside—city life we have here in EC1, but now I also realise why so many country houses have wooden floors: the dirt is difficult to keep under control, so I have my London carpet cleaning company visits planned twice a year, and I vacuum every couple of days. Our carpets, now into their sixth year, are looking as good as they did the day we had them laid, two weeks before my eldest was born.
