Hyudnai could launch Sonata sedan at the Indian Auto Expo 2012
Hyundai India, country’s second largest car maker and largest car exporter, is all ready to sizzle upcoming Indian Auto Expo 2012. Recent Hyundai India unveils its plans for upcoming Auto Expo 2012 and company has four different models to showcase for the company’s stand in the coming event. Visitors will soon going to witness the face-lift version of its two most popular hatchbacks Hyundai i20, and Hyundai i10. As per rumors to believe the show stopper for the company would be Veloster Coupe. It is expected that the coupe will soon hit Indian shores and create some revolution in the Indian automotive industry. Company could also bring in a concept model of sub four meter compact sports utility vehicle. Another news coming from company’s stable is that company also plans to show case its all new Fluidic Elantra/Avante sedan in the coming auto show. It is a D-segment sedan which will compete against the likes of Toyota Corolla Altis, the Chevrolet Cruze, the Skoda Laura, the Renault Fluence, the Honda Civic and the Volkswagen Jetta.
The biggest and most interesting news is that Hyundai India will showcase the next generation Sonata sedan which will also going to be launched at the event. Company’s outgoing Sonata Embera has gotten really out-dated and was hardly selling in the market and thus the firm make a move to bring in the all new Sonata or the i45 as it is known internationally. Hyundai will manufacture this sedan in Indian and is expected to be priced less than its rivals such as the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, VW Passat and the Skoda Superb. The exact price details of the car is yet to be revealed by the company but it is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh.
The newly formulated luxury sedan will house a 2.4 liter petrol motor and a 2.2 liter turbocharged diesel engine which also powers its SUV Santa Fe. This car might get Hyundai’s Fluidic sculpture design philosophy which we all see in almost all new cars of the company. Currently Hyundai cars in India registers a good sells and company becomes largest car exporter in the country. Its small hatch i20 is the first ever premium hatch which is exported in the global markets.
