Roop Kumar Rathod is one of Bollywood’s most successful artistes. He is famous across bollywood for his excellent depiction of many bollywood super hit songs. He formed an excellent team with Anup Jalota, and performed many shows and concerts together. He was the playback voice of Shahrukh Khan in popular films Veer Zaara – Tere Liye and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi – Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai. His other film hits include; Anwar – Maula Mere Maula, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein – Dil Ko Tumse Pyaar Hua, Veer – Salaam Aaya, Tumsa Nahi Dekha – Yeh Dhuan Dhuan and the award winning Sandese Aate Hain and To Chalun from the film Border.Nusrat, who died in 1997, attained a level of popularity similar to that of Pavarotti, and Beatles. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, nephew of legendary Qawwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, born like his uncle, in Faisalabad, Pakistan had the tough job of performing some of Nusrat’s best-known songs with the scrutiny of being compared to his uncle at the City of Birmingham’s Symphony Orchestra Hall.
It was an amazing night at the City of Birmingham’s Symphony Hall. Roop Kumar was accompanied by the charming Sunali Rathod. Together they sang vintage film classics of yesteryears such as Laga Chunar Mein Daag, Duniya Ke Rakhwale, Albela Sajan, Chalte Chalte and popular ghazals such as Dil-e-Nadaan and Patta Patta Boota Boota.
The romance between the pair was evident for all to see. It was almost like the most romantic song they were singing to each other! It was spectacular to see.
