Tallit for girls – a statement of faith
Since the very beginning of Judaism, Jews were required to wear “fringes” on their garments as a reminder of the 613 laws by which a Jew is required to lead their lives – the numerical value of the Hebrew for fringes (tzitzit) is 600 and the 8 threads and 5 knots from which each fringe is made bring the total to 613.
