Your Scale: Would like a Side of Sabotage With this?
Do you feel compelled to weigh yourself constantly because you’re overweight? Have you been sick and tired of having your scale explain to you how you’re entitled to feel and what sort of day you’re going to have?
I’ll just bet that based upon the number shown; you’ll either think that celebrating or commiserating. Brand-new news for you. Your scale isn’t your horoscope. This is high time you reclaimed your control of this miserable little bit of scrap metal. Here’s why:
Your Thinking Body and the Mind/Body Connection
Most fat people would swear with a stack of bibles you must weigh yourself to look at progress. For years I agreed with that belief until I became a professional empowerment coach and started to study what is known as the mind/body connection.
To put it simply, anything that affects your brain, affects your body and or viceversa. Let’s say that you love cookies and someone provides a whole plateful of all your favorites. Just the mere thought of thinking of eating them causes your mouth to instantly fill with saliva. It is an example of your mind and thoughts affecting your body.

As well as tried on a pair of pants that are too tight and immediately you sense horrible about yourself? Is certainly not the quickest route to a binge? Here’s your body affecting your mind. Scientific studies have proven that there is a complex system of communication that proceeds consistently between your mind and body. This goes on behind the scenes without you having any conscious knowing of it. Scientists have isolated neurotransmitters (chemical messengers of thought) and found that they are in every cell of our bodies. That means that your system and mind are usually standing at attention, waiting patiently that you issue commands. The things you tell yourself determines how you feel and what we do.
As dieters or weight watchers, we tend to imagine ourselves as fat and that we learn all the habits and options for thinking that reinforce our belief that we have no control over food. This is what’s called the diet mentality.
Break Free of the Diet mentality by Hearing and Respecting The body
Since August 2006 I have been previously committed to changing a lot of my weight watching habits and working out live, eat and think being a naturally slender woman.
My experience has trained me in that if you want to get thinner, you will need to start listening to one’s body, not the scale. You will need to learn how to master your relationship with food. The issue is not what you’re eating, but what’s eating you!
Constantly monitoring excess fat on the scale keeps you thinking as being a fat person so you can’t be thin if you are thinking fat. Naturally slim people never weigh themselves and for that reason probably have no idea of their weight. This is because they don’t depend upon an external authority to express to them how to control their eating. These people have a relaxed and peaceful, healthy relationship with food and so they trust their bodies to express to them what to eat.
