Why Not Rent A Car While You Are Visiting Israel?

As one of the foundations of western society the area around Jerusalem in what is now Israel is of immense importance. Both the Jews and the Christians regard Jerusalem as being of immense significance to their faith. In addition the third major monotheistic religion also regards Jerusalem as of immense importance.

Historically of course it is important as well. Although the religious center moved to Rome the Birth Place as well as the site of the Sepulchre of Jesus are major religious attractions and are presided over by three major Christian sects (Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox and Russian Orthodox) The Romans occupied Israel for many hundreds of years and ordered the Diasopra which was in the 2nd century AD

After WWII a group of Jewish scattered peoples from all over the world desired a homeland of their own and basically forced the British who were mandated to administer Palestine to accept and recognize a Jewish state. However none of the neighbors, who were all followers of Islam, recognized this state and refused to countenance them. In a short military conflict in 1967 the neighbors were put to Rout and Israel occupied a great deal of territory, some of which it still regards as occupied but Jerusalem and the Golan Heights it annexed.

The reason for the potted history lesson is to point out the importance and significance of Israel.
