Airline – Advantages, Competition and Complaints

Airlines provide a faster mode of travelling, saving your time and making the journey less tiring and efficient. Almost every city in India has an Airport now, connecting them to the rest of the country through airline services. The airlines can be classified in to two ways first by the region they travel in and secondly by the number of people they can accommodate.

According to the region airlines can be of following types

  • Domestic aircrafts
  • Regional aircrafts
  • International aircrafts
  • Aircrafts within the continent
  • Airlines between the continents, etc

According to space they can be either small aircraft, medium sized or large aircrafts. They can also be classified as passenger aircraft and freight aircraft.

The basic operation of airline is to transport passenger and cargos from one place to another safely and quickly. Previously air tickets were out of reach for general Indian crowd but since when the Deccan airlines introduces economic airline tickets, air tickets came under the reach of mass Indian crowd. The trend was followed by other leading airlines like kingfisher airlines and jet airlines. This change in the trend resulted in increment of market available for the aviation sector.

Growth in market gained attention of many investors towards aviation sector, resulted in new investors and private airlines. Such a change ultimately resulted into increase in competition for already existing airlines. These new airlines are giving neck to neck competition to older airlines benefitting the customers.

Aviation sector introduced several new employment and carrier option for Indians, reducing unemployment. It has carrier opportunities for a wide range of people from science student to management workers, from air hostess to pilot, the job increment was observed in lower class as well.

Indian aircrafts have to face many problems including high fuel rate, several taxes, increase in wages and tough competition. All these result in input cost and the competition restricts the price level. A huge sum of money is required to be invested operation and maintenance of airlines and their services.

The two leading popular and private airlines are jet airlines and kingfisher airlines. Both are close competitors and have strong grip on market. A jet airway is an international and one of the fastest growing airlines in India. Customers complaints about usual delay of flights and misplacement of bags which cause lots of inconvenience. Customers complaints against jet airlines privilege cards as well, they blame that these cards do not operate at the time of requirement.

Kingfisher is another leading, private and popular airline, which serve many airline passengers. Its head office is located in Vile Parle Mumbai. Customers complaint against that they were not informed about the cancellation of flight which caused lots of inconvenience.
