Staying Over During The Olympics
With the Olympics just around the corner and with the popular Olympic rowing taking place on Eton’s Dorney Lake, now is the time to start looking at your accommodation needs. Hotels in central Windsor have a limited number of beds and with demand likely to outstrip supply by some margin, prices being charged have gone up by nearly 100% in some cases. However, being able to stay over during the Olympics allows you to miss the madness that is UK traffic during this busy period so many people are looking slightly outside of central Windsor.
Hotels in Bracknell and Ascot will likely be better options for those staying over. Within easy reach of Dorney Lake as well as the London venues through direct trains to Waterloo station, the prices will be significantly lower and therefore a better choice for those wishing to enjoy the Olympics.
The Olympics begin on the 27 July and run through to the 12 August. The Olympic rowing at Dorney Lake begins on the 28 July and runs for a week until the 4 August and cannot be missed. Great Britain usually makes into the rowing finals in both the twin skulls and Fours class and with World Class athletes competing all week, if you have tickets to the Rowing or any other Olympic event then make the most of it and stay over!
Stirrups Country House Hotel is a top 3 star hotel that is in the great position of being a Hotel in Windsor and a Hotel in Bracknell. It is right between the two set in 10 acres of gorgeous Berkshire countryside. Just a few minutes drive in to Windsor and the same in to Bracknell and Ascot, it is an ideal hotel to consider for your Olympic accommodation needs.
With a modern bar and restaurant and 30 luxurious bedrooms, it can be your perfect Windsor hotel of choice. With prices significantly lower than those in central Berkshire with rooms starting from as little as £125 per night, it is, like other Windsor and Bracknell Hotels in particular, proving to be very popular.
As such time is running out to book…though you may find the central Windsor Hotel to be full already, there are still other options as mentioned so do not fear. The Olympics can still be the perfect break you always imagined it to be.
