Fragrance Creator Trademarks Revealed in Perfume Reviews

Scent creators who do not work exclusively for a single house may include a common theme in some or all of their creations. As this fact is frequently mentioned in perfume reviews, analyzing these so-called trademarks might prove interesting for some fragrance collectors.

One thing to remember, though, is that sometimes perfumers may use different ingredients in order to create the same olfactory impression. This is often the case when one scent is created for a niche perfumery that affords spending more money on high-quality, natural ingredients, while the other creation is made for a designer perfumery that might opt for less expensive alternative perfume compounds. As stated in perfume reviews, such differences in the quality of the ingredients may determine variations not only in the longevity and projection of the fragrances, but also in their complexity.

On the other hand, the ones who are in-house perfumers for a single company might try to make their creations as different as possible from one to the other. No matter the case, the makers of perfume reviews, regardless if these are written or in video format, are able to recognize and appreciate the creativity of the perfumers.

Bear in mind that perfumes may share similarities even when they are created by different perfumers from different perfume houses.  The number of fragrance ingredients is impressive, and yet there are still combinations that are strikingly similar. Most perfume reviews include a section where similar fragrances are mentioned. The authors of these perfume reviews come with such suggestions because of two main reasons. First of all, they offer hints as to how a perfume smells, if it has not been smelt before and secondly, they provide a list of alternatives that might be more affordable or simply better, in terms of fragrance complexity.

The trademarks of the perfumers can also be used for tracking the evolution or the decline of these olfactory artists. Perfume decants may be necessary for observing such changes, as purchasing all of the creations of a perfumer may not be the most cost effective decision. Regardless if the perfumers focus on a single olfactory note or on a combination of notes, authors of perfume reviews are able to tell whether the typical feature has been preserved or not in a specific fragrance. More than that, it is not difficult to tell if there are improvements over the previous creations or if the perfumer took a step backwards when creating a particular scent.
