Andrew L Evans – his love for racing

Born in the year 1951, Andrew L Evans got to see a Can-Am race in the year 1963. He was around twelve at that time. The race was the first one he saw and he was bitten. From that time he always dreamt about becoming a race driver. He was thrilled by the idea of traveling at around hundred miles per hour. The thrill was not limited to racing; he was also thrilled by race cars.

Andrew L Evans had taken a liking for Ferrari and he wore this feeling on his sleeve. He started his racing career by first paying his dues. Most drivers would not have taken this route. He however raced more as a hobby during the 80s and kept it as an alternative to fall back on when bad times came. The bad times however did come and he soon turned his hobby into a profession. In the year 1990 he was allowed to race in the Camel GT Lights class category of the International Motor Sports Association. This feat was possible due to his passion and focus. The wheels of his car soon made tracks on legendary racking tracks found in Europe and the United States.

Andrew L Evans wanted to more than just racing, so he formed his own team called Team Scandia in the year 1994. His team attracted some of the best drivers towards it. The team was soon racing in some of United States’ most competitive races. Team Scandia managed to take the ‘12 Hours of Sebring’ in the year 1995. The car used to win this race was a Ferrari. A twenty three old jinx was broken by this win.

Ferrari along with Andrew L Evans considers this moment a special one. Ferrari allowed Andrew the pleasure of directly buying an F 50. No other customer was allowed to directly buy an F 50 from Ferrari.
