HP EliteBook 8440p Notebook Review
HP’s recently announced HP EliteBook 8440p laptop that is powered by Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor and has NVIDIA NVS graphics aimed at mobile professionals who need HP EliteBook 8440p battery manageability, security, upgradeable wireless and enhanced system and graphics.
Business-rugged HP EliteBook 8440p notebook features a brushed-aluminum platinum finish design that helps protect notebook on the go. A magnesium/aluminum display enclosure and magnesium alloy chassis provides enhances durability.
The notebook comes preinstalled with HP QuickLook 3 application that allows accessing e-mail and contact information in seconds without booting up, and HP QuickWeb to access the web in seconds even if your notebook is turned off.
The HP EliteBook 8440p offers choice of Processors including Intel 2.4 GHz Core i5-520M and also supports 2.53 MHz Intel Core i5-540M or 2.66 GHz Core i7-620M or 1.66 GHz Core i7-720M Processor with upto 6 MB L3 cache @ 1333 MHz FSB Mobile Intel QM57 Express chipset mainboard.
The laptop comes with upto 4-GB DDR3 1333 MHz RAM, upto 500 GB 7200 rpm SATA II or upto 256 GB Solid State Drive and DVD+/-RW SuperMulti with Double Layer optional Blu-ray R/RE disk.
The HP EliteBook 8440p model comes with 14.1-inch diagonal LED-backlit HD+ anti-glare display powered by NVIDIA NVS 5100 graphics with 512 MB dedicated gDDR3 video memory offering 1600 x 900 screen resolution and also features Spill-resistant keyboard with drains and optional HP EliteBook 6930p battery built-in 2.0 megapixel webcam with integrated microphone.
In terms of ports, the HP EliteBook 8440p offers 1 Express Card/54 alot, 1 Smart Card Reader and 1 Secure Digital and also features High definition audio with integrated stereo speakers, integrated dual-microphone array, Touch-sensitive controls for volume up, volume down, and mute, Stereo headphone/line out port and a Stereo microphone/line in port connection.
The EliteBook 8440p is equipped with integrated Intel Gigabit Network 10/100/1000 Ethernet card and offers HP Mobile Broadband powered by Gobi with GPS, Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 802.11a/b/g/n wireless LAN connection, HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth 2.1 Wireless card.
HP EliteBook 8440p notebook measures 14.7 x 9.9 x 1.28 in and weighs under 2.90 kgs and the laptop comes with choice batteries including 8-cell (73 WHr) Li-Ion or HP Long Life 8-cell (68 WHr) Li-Ion battery that can provide upto 24 hours of battery life on a properly configured HP EliteBook 8540p with Ultra Capacity Battery.
