Lolita Cosplay Costumes for Fervent Fans and Cosplayers
Big news for Cosplayers in Philippine and global enthusiasts! Many pedestrians’ heads kept turning while they walked along Pedro Gil, Padre Faura and M. Adriatico Streets in Malate, Manila last Saturday when youngsters and adults clad in colorful and elaborate costumes rushed past them en route to the mall in the area. Ground zero was the mall lobby, where fun and creativity were on full display at the 5th Philippine Cosplay Convention. A cheerful horde of about 150 fantasy enthusiasts paraded as their favorite fictional characters. Virtual cosplay outfit, fairytale Lolita Cosplay Costumes and creativity geeks are assembled in the convention.
Arguably, my favorite part of Fan Expo is meeting all of the talented folk in Artist’s Alley. For those new to the convention circuit, Artist’s Alley is usually where artists local and international gather to show off their skills with the pen, the marker, and the paintbrush. This is an ideal place to not only meet some of the more creative guests at a convention, but also a place to buy original prints, paintings, comics and other goodies. Official webs provide the latest information of Anime Cosplay conventions and chic costumes for almost cosplayers. For an instance, if you intend to personate the Lolita look, hence the Lolita Cosplay costumes and attached Cosplay Wig would be an essential part to dress up distinctly.
Ah, cosplay. Ordinary folk have a nasty tendency of laughing at the geeks in their homemade battle maid outfits, but I find them fun to look at. Whether sporting costumes for male cosplayers or Lolita cosplay costumes for female bought online or just made at home, you can’t help but admire the craftsmanship that goes into putting the uniforms and armour together. It’s not surprising to see bands of cosplayers representing the same series or franchise gathering in some corner of the con or another. Organized geek groups such as Steampunk Canada, The Toronto Browncoats, and Star Wars cosplayers The 501st Legion are expected to be stalking the floors as well.
For Roxy Co, an anime fan, “The execution itself is not as hard as it was actually putting it together. The hardest part of the costume is the props and the armor, and it’s not like the Lolita cosplay costumes you can select online, but it’s very fulfilling when you actually get it done in personally,” she said. She takes cosplay seriously, saying, “I like it. It’s fun. It’s a really good way to get to know your anime and your character better. For me this is the best form of fandom.” An admiring crowd gathered around her to take pictures of her poses while she brandished three long swords with each hand. Her costume took three months and she had to commission a friend who makes custom stage property.
