Why Is Everyone So Worried About Using Water Filters?
Most of us are aware that we need to have clean water to drink, to cook with and to bathe with in order to stay healthy. We know that if we do not have access to this type of water that it is going to seriously affect our health and can in fact lead to complications that will eventually cause death. You have only to turn on the television to see this happening in areas of the world where no form of water filters are used to provide the people who live there with clean water.
What is really odd is that most of us would never consider going to these areas unless we had some form of water filter that could provide us with pure drinking water, yet at the same time we turn on the faucet in our kitchen and drink the water that comes out of it without a thought. In reality, the water that is coming out of our faucets is really not much better in different ways than the water you see in those infomercials about saving the children in third world countries. The pollutants in the water may be different, but in many ways may actually be more dangerous and unfit for human consumption.
How can this be you ask, after all we live in one of the most advanced countries in the world? It is the sheer fact that we are so advanced that is responsible for making the water coming out of your taps so bad. You will find that the average municipal water supply even after it has passed through their water filters, contains unacceptably high levels of contaminants such as fertilizers, pesticides, heavy metals and worst of all raw sewage.
Most of these substances in high enough levels can make you sick; some are directly related to high rates of deadly diseases including cancer. The only way the city tries to deal with any of these problems is to add high levels of chlorine to the water along with the fluoride they add that is supposed to be good for your teeth. What they don’t tell you is that chlorine is a deadly toxin and fluoride is the toxic waste by-product of aluminum ore processing.
None of the water filters the cities use are capable of removing any of these substances let alone the bacteria and other microscopic organisms that live in the city water supply. Now armed with this knowledge, do you still feel comfortable thinking that the water you just filled your glass with from the faucet is really safe to drink or that this is the kind of water you want to be cooking with or showering in?
Before you become convinced you have to boil every ounce of water coming into your home, you do need to realize that the quality of the water you have is going to vary based on where you live and the type of water filter system your city uses.
