The Importance of Knowing Truth of Scripture
There is a great deal of violence and intolerance in our contemporary society. Our families are breaking and our youth is moving in the wrong direction towards drugs and premature sex. From abuse to indifference, all the bad virtues are becoming a part of our lives. Have you ever wondered what leads to such ugly events? One of the major reasons for this is our lack of knowledge in Christianity. Most of us are knowingly and unknowingly abstaining away from the scriptural truths which have acted as guiding stars in human lives over centuries.
According to Matthew 4:4 “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God” it is very important for every individual to known the truth of scripture and the Christian truth. It is important to realize that there is more to our lives than mere existence. Lack of knowledge in Christianity has affected our newer generations who often succumb to the pressures of life. Here are some of the things that anybody can benefit from when he or she knows the truth of scripture.
- Love and Be Loved – One of the greatest virtues that Bible teaches us is to love and respect others. As John 13:34-35 puts it “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 4:8 says “Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love.” Knowing the scriptural truths encourages us to love others and be loved by them and co-exist peacefully.
- Win Over Adversity – Profound knowledge of Christianity and spiritual truth has always been the greatest hope in peaks of hardship and misfortune to mankind. Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight The God the Father, the Son, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit have inspired human beings to look beyond the adversity. This is one of the reasons that we have been able to come out of adversity better and stronger.
- It helps to bring liberation from ones sin– All of us commit some form of sin in our lives. The atheist may not believe it but God is our only source of liberations. Having faith in the Christian truth and the knowledge of scripture can help you be liberated out of your sins. Corinthians 5:17 says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.” This helps us move to newness in life and leave behind the unfortunate incidents of the past.
These are the great virtues that you can benefit from knowing the truth of scriptures. This will help you lead a peaceful life where you enjoy God’s blessings and his love.
