New Car launches in India

As the 11th edition of the Delhi International Auto Expo is inching closer, more and more car makers are looking forward to make the most of the huge excitement among the car enthusiasts and buyers in the country. Going one step ahead, a number of car makers are planning to launch their new car models in the first week of the January 2012, so that they can receive a strong opening ahead of the Delhi auto expo 2012. By launching their cars ahead of the auto expo, the car makers will not only be able to give their new entrants a strong opening, but will be able to cash on the huge excitement among the buyers for these newly launched models at the Show.

The most awaited launches before the auto Expo include new generation Punto and Linea on January 3rd, Bajaj Ultra-low cost car on 3rd, BMW’s upcoming Mini Series of small luxury cars on 4th January, Ford’s upcoming highly fuel efficient EcoSport SUV on 4th January and Mercedes Benz’s Bharat Benz Trucks on the same day.Some of the Ford EcoSport Review available on the web.

The most awaited among these new brand launches ahead of Delhi auto Expo 2012, is the BMW’s upcoming small luxury car series – Mini Cooper. The Mini Series of cars will be among the cheapest BMW cars in the Indian market, and will be competing with the likes of Volkswagen Beetle, Fiat 500, etc. The BMW Mini will be rolled-out in the segment of Rs 20 to 25 lakh, where it is expected to be driving volumes for the company. Initially, the company will be rolling-out three models of Mini Series in the Indian auto market, which is comprises of Cooper, Cooper S and Countryman. The long awaited small car from Bajaj Auto is all set to be displayed on 3rd January, 2012 in Delhi. The production ready small car of the company has been developed on three-wheeler’s platform, in which the maker has got expertise. The new small car will also be put on display at Auto Expo; however, the availability of the vehicle in the market will take more time. As per reports, the Bajaj small car will deliver higher mileage than Tata Nano. Besides, the car is going to be priced a little higher than its nearest contender Nano.

The third big launch ahead of the Delhi International Auto Expo is the Ford’s much talked about Sports Utility Vehicle – EcoSport. The highly fuel efficient Ford Ecosport will come powered by company’s latest 1.0L Ecoboost engine, that delivers a massive power of 90 bhp, equivalent to the power generated by a 1.6 L petrol engine. The diesel version of the SUV is expected to be launched with a 1.5 L diesel engine, delivering a peak power of up to 90 bhp. The Ecosport SUV is based on the platform of Ford Fiesta model, and it will be placed in the price segment of Rs 7 to 9 lakh. Though the EcoSport model will not be in a direct competition with any model, but it will be taking on with the likes of Maruti’s upcoming Ertiga model, Toyota Innova and Mahindra’s upcoming Mini Xylo.

Adding to the series of the cars will be launched ahead of Auto expo include the launch of new generation models of the Italian car maker Fiat. Fiat India is all set to launch new generation models of its competitive car models compact hatchback Fiat Punto and mid-size sedan Fiat Linea. Besides a number of cosmetic changes, the new Punto and Linea models will be launched with improved mileage and power figures. The new generation models of these highly competitive Fiat India portfolio cars are expected to give a boost to the sales of the company in the country, giving a tough fight to its rivals. After their launch, both new Punto and new Linea models will be showcased at the Delhi International Auto expo on 7th January.

Besides this, some other vehicles will also be launched before auto expo including the Mercedes Benz’s latest Bharat Benz trucks on 4th January.
