Notebook versus Laptop versus Desktop PC versus Tablet
If you are looking for a way to computer from home then you are today spoiled for choices. You no longer only have to choose between a laptop and a computer, but instead can also opt for a tablet or a notebook. This is due to something called ‘convergence’ which is the trend for technology to become both smaller and more multifunctional. This has resulted in devices that are smaller and slimmer and that can do a variety of different things – and whole new classes of technology that didn’t exist before.
A notebook for instance is a laptop that is even smaller – so much so that it often won’t have a CD drive and instead will rely on downloadable content. These are designed for making notes and browsing the web and especially when you are travelling, and they normally weight little more than a couple of grams making them ideal for slinging in a bag. The Asus notebooks are great notebooks that will do mostly everything you’d be able to do on a laptop or PC but while having the rough dimensions of a small book.
However if you do want to sling something in a bag, you also have the option of a tablet which is a slightly different variation on the theme. Tablets essentially are notebooks but without a keyboard and with a touch screen instead. The most well known of these is the Apple iPad which does the same thing as an iPhone while giving you a bigger screen and more power under the hood which means you can play 3D computer games and edit Word presentations. It’s also a very pleasant and ‘intuitive’ way to browse the web.
So how do you choose which one is for you? A big Pc, an Asus laptop, an Apple iPad, or an Asus notebook? Well while they all have their benefits you need to think about what it is you want to do on your machine.
If you are looking for hardcore gaming and want to show off 3D graphics and powerful sound, and if you want a machine that you can update and that won’t go out of date then a large PC is the answer for you. These pack the most power and allow you to swap and improve components. An Asus laptop is what you want if you want to get all this power and long lasting lifespan, but don’t have space for a big PC or want to be able to carry it around easily.
An Asus notebook however or iPad are both more suited to slightly lighter computing. This is what you want if you want to be able to throw a computing device in your bag and work on the go, and it’s what you want if you want to be able to read the paper on the train or show your family pictures that can get passed around. Here the latter tasks are more suited to a tablet which has an intuitive design and large screen that can be seen easily by lots of people at once. If you are more the travelling business executive though, then without a doubt an Asus notebook is more suitable as it will allow you access to a keyboard – a very useful device when you want to be productive and put out lots of words in a short time.
When choosing your computer device there is a lot to consider. An Asus notebook laptop though will tick many of the boxes most people need. Follow the links for more on Asus notebooks.
