New Cars ready for launch in India
Amidst the expectations of a revival in the car sales in the Indian auto market, the leading car maker are all set to launch their much anticipated car models in the country in next two months. The car enthusiasts in the Indian auto market are eagerly waiting for the launch of these new car models including all new 2012 Maruti Swift Dzire CS, Multi Utility Vehicle Maruti Ertiga, new generation Tata Safari Storme, Mahindra Mini Xylo, all new Hyundai Sonata Fluidic and new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. The launch of these new car models is expected to give a major boost to the car sales in India, which is currently going through a massive slow down. Most of these car models have already been unveiled at the recently held Delhi International Auto Expo 2012, where a huge number of car lovers were present to get a glimpse of these upcoming cars in India.
The most awaited among these car models is the new generation model of Maruti Swift Dzire CS, which will not only be compact in size, but carry a lower price tag as compared to the precious generation model. The 2012 Maruti Swift Dzire CS will be carrying a length of less than 4 meters, which makes it qualified for the lower excise duty segment. The company is expected to pass-on the benefit of this lower excise duty to the buyers of this car, which simply translates into an expected price cut of Rs 50,000 to 60,000. The new Swift Dzire model will be launched in both petrol and diesel versions, powered by the same 1.2L petrol and 1.3L multijet diesel engines, respectively. The car is expected to receive an overwhelming response from the buyers after its launch, and can even surpass the response received by its hatchback sibling Maruti Swift 2012 after its launch in August 2011.
One more car which will be added in the India by auto giant Maruti Suzuki’s India portfolio within next two months is company’s all new Multi Utility Vehicle Maruti Ertiga. The Ertiga will be the first ever MPV model of Maruti Suzuki in the country, and is expected to be launched in both petrol and diesel versions. While the petrol version of the car is expected to come powered by a 1.2L petrol engine, the 1.3 L diesel engine for diesel version of the car will be sourced from the Italian car maker Fiat. The car will be competing with the likes of Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo, and Tata Aria.Maruti Ertiga features is a notable.
Meanwhile, the Indian auto maker Tata Motors is all set to launch a new generation version of its iconic sports utility vehicle Tata Safari – named as Tata Safari Storme. Powered by a 2179cc DOHC DiCOR diesel engine, the Safari Storme model would be rolled-out in both two and four wheel drive versions. The powerful engine of the car will be capable of delivering a peak power of 140 bhp at 4000 rpm along with a peak torque of 320 nm at 1700 rpm. The new Tata Safari Storme is expected to be offered in the price range of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.
In a bid to capitalize on the rising demand for the compact Sports Utility Vehicles in India, the country’s largest utility vehicle maker Mahindra & Mahindra is all set launch a compact version of its MUV Mahindra Xylo in the country in March 2012. The Mahindra Xylo Mini will be lesser in price and will be shorter as compared to the existing version of Xylo. The car has been spotted testing on the Indian roads a number of times, which indicates towards its early launch. The Xylo Mini is expected to carry a starting price tag of Rs 6 lakh.
In addition, the country’s second largest car maker Hyundai Motors India is all set to launch new version of its premium sedan Sonata, named as Hyundai Sonata Fluidic. The new sedan will carry the futuristic Fluidic design concept of the car, which has been seen in the Hyundai Verna Fluidic. The Fluidic design version of the car is expected to receive an overwhelming response in the Indian auto market, considering the response received by the Verna model. The Verna Fluidic model was showcased at the Delhi International Auto Expo 2012 at the company’s pavilion, where the company announced to launch it in February 2012.
Adding one more car to the list of new entrants in next two months, the Japanese car maker Mitsubishi Motors is all set to launch new Pajero Sport SUV in the country. The new Pajero SUV will be more powerful with peak power of 200bhp and peak torque of 441NM of torque. The towing capacity of the car has been increased to up to 3,500kg for the long wheelbase version. The SUV is expected to mark its debut in next two months.
Meanwhile, the Force One racing team has announced to launch its all new car for the year 2012 on February 3rd at Silverstone. In year 2011, Force India team had finished just four points below to the Renault Team, which was positioned at the fifth place.
