Car-Truck Accident Was Preventable According to Attorney

The driver of a truck involved in an accident with a Franklin County teenager has filed a $500,000 lawsuit. Whether an accident occurs in Roanoke, VA, Miami, FL, or Omaha, NE, if it is due to the negligence of another driver, an accident attorney should be consulted as soon as possible to determine the extent to which medical expenses, repairs, loss of wages, and future loss of earnings can be compensated.

The Roanoke Times reports that the half-million-dollar lawsuit has been filed by Jonathan Hall who was driving his Dodge Dakota pickup truck when it was struck by a Mercury Cougar driven by 17-year-old Marina Snyder. The accident severely injured three others and killed another 17-year-old.

Police reports indicate that the teenager was driving with three other 17-year-olds in the vehicle. Her passenger in the front seat suffered death, while the two back-seat passengers were seriously injured.

Snyder allegedly lost control of her vehicle, crossed the center line, and struck a car and then Hall’s truck. Hall’s lawsuit suggests that Snyder was negligent in that she exceeded a safe and lawful speed (by an excessive amount), failed to maintain control of her vehicle, and recklessly entered Hall’s lane of travel. Consequently, Hall has had surgery to insert rods, plates, and screws into his fractured femur and has been unable to work since the accident.

Charges in the accident are pending; however, state police have indicated that speed was a factor in the wreck. According to Hall’s personal injury attorney, the accident was preventable and should not have happened.

Accidents involving injury and/or death are extremely difficult whenever they occur. Whether driving a truck, car, or motorcycle, each of us expects that when we are on the road, other drivers will drive in such a way as to prevent avoidable accidents. Sadly, that is not always the case here in Miami, just as it was not the case for Mr. Hall in Roanoke. Unfortunately, some people drive dangerously, recklessly, and with apparent disregard for the lives that they could irreparably damage.

If you have been in a truck or car accident in which you believe the other driver was negligent or driving while impaired, you do not have to suffer the injustice of this incident alone. You do have recourse to compensation, not only for your car repairs or medical bills, but for pain and suffering, loss of earnings, and future loss of income. Consult with a Miamitruck accident attorney as soon as possible to determine if you might have a personal injury case. If your car or truckaccident was preventable, a Miami truck accidentattorney will help to ensure you do not suffer further injustice.
