All State Pools – Pool Companies

There are numerous companies now advertising the services they offer to the public. However, in the construction of pools, one cannot just avail the services of any contractor. Instead, one needs a contractor that certainly meets the qualifications in pool making. Most pool companies engage not only in pool construction but also in pool renovations and repairs. The classification of these companies may be in terms of their specialization in pool building and in terms of their qualifications. In choosing the right company to deal with, you may want to consider several aspects before making a final decision.

Choose the right contractor. Choosing the right contractors is now easy since there are many sites, associations, and agencies that provide listing of licensed contractors. The contractors usually have a swimming pool specialty license, though there can also be general construction companies which are granted the authority to contract and build pool projects provided it holds the swimming pool specialty license or it hires other pool companies licensed to construct pools. It is important also to consider that the companies work on specific areas for which they are licensed, like landscape only, plumbing works only, and so forth.

Deal with the right dealer. It is important to know that most laws do not permit the contractors to hire under their employ a so-called HIS or home improvement salesperson. The law prohibits pool companies to solicit or to negotiate their own pool contractors and thus a middle person is required to deal between the client and the contractor. This person is called the salesperson and his main function is to negotiate, to sell and to execute the contracts far from the usual place of business of the contractor. This salesperson must be a registered home improvement salesperson and homeowners may properly ask this person to show his or her certificate of registration as HIS.

Check the licenses and the registration of the persons with whom you are dealing. Even if the contractor and the salesperson present to you their qualifications, certifications and licenses, it is better to verify these matters for yourself. There are many bogus pool companies around now which are able to falsify these documents.

Try to get referrals and references. If you want to deal with credible pool companies, you may entertain the idea of asking friends and neighbors what construction company to get. You may also get these referrals from pool associations and pool builders. It is wise also to ask the contractor for references so that you can personally verify with their past clients on how satisfied they are with the work of the company you plan to use.

Try to secure bids. Most pool owners underwent a bidding process to determine the contractor to engage. This allows you to get the best company and at the same time, get the best quote. Three bidders are enough to make a good choice.

Finally, have everything in writing, not only for your convenience and reference but also for your security.
