Xavier Thoma Was Member Of The Mergers & Acquisitions And Corporate Finance Departments
An experienced professional based in the United Kingdom, Xavier Thoma has worked with many leading organizations in the financial services industry. Immediately after completing his post-graduate degree, he started working with JP Morgan & Co. Ltd. as a Corporate Finance Analyst. He was the member of the Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Finance Departments and successfully handled many responsibilities, such as conducting financial analysis, managing due diligence and structuring transactions. Aside from that, he also wrote board documents, information memoranda and client presentations. He frequently advised clients in Belgium, Germany, France, Sweden and the United States.
In 2000, Xavier Thoma joined Morgan Stanley & Co. Ltd. as an Associate and became the member of the Mergers, Acquisitions and Restructuring Department. His responsibilities included providing corporate valuations, developing negotiation strategy and ensuring successful transaction executions. He advised clients in France, Switzerland, the United States and the United Kingdom. In 2002, he became Vice President of the firm and assumed management responsibility for M&A department. He undertook the responsibility for client selection, client conflict management and staffing of junior professionals (associates/analysts). Having gained extensive experience in the financial services industry, he co-founded and established Globefin European Advisors Ltd. in 2003.
Xavier Thoma served as Chief Executive Officer and Director of the company since 2011. He was an Investment Advisor to a private investment group, co-head of portfolio allocation and head of its research committee. He designed and executed research and investment selection procedure, approved investments for building portfolios, and initiated as well as maintained relationships with largest investors in Switzerland, Spain, Portugal and Luxembourg. Moreover, he was also responsible for raising capital for new investment mandates, and liaising with major service providers such as administrator, leverage providers, custodian, auditors and legal counsel.
Outside of work, Xavier Thoma loves to explore new places, sceneries, cultures, smells and tastes, and has visited Namibia, South Africa, Northern California, Zambia, Latvia, Brazil, Cuba and China. He has an offshore boating license, which helps him hire boats during travels.
