It was the first perfect game cheap nike zoom rookie
Beavan took a tough-luck loss in Texas cheap nike zoom kobe 7 on April 10, with the right-hander allowing only one run in 6 1/3 innings of action but taking a 1-0 defeat. The 23-year-old then beat the A’s on Sunday, yielding three runs on six hits without a walk in seven frames.
Though Beavan may not have been as impressive as his season debut, Wedge still applauded the performance.
“I thought Blake pitched a good game,” said Wedge. “He executes pitches very well, does a good job with his fastball and his secondary stuff continues to get better and he continues to gain confidence in it, so another impressive performance.”
Humber made only one start for the Mets, who traded him to Minnesota as part of the package for Johan Santana in 2008. From there, he bounced to Kansas City, Oakland and the Chicago White Sox, while Verlander and Weaver went on to stardom.
Yet Saturday in Seattle, Humber did something those pitchers have never done. He threw a perfect game, the 21st in major-league history, in a 4-0 victory over the Mariners at Safeco Field. It was the first perfect game in the majors since Philadelphia’s Roy Halladay threw one in May 2010.
Humber did not have a three-ball count until the ninth inning, when his first three pitches to Michael Saunders missed the strike zone. But he recovered for a strikeout, then retired pinch hitter John Jaso on a flyout to right.
Another pinch hitter, Brendan Ryan, came up with two outs. He fouled off a full-count pitch, then checked his swing on a ball well outside the zone. The plate umpire, Brian Runge, called it strike three, but the ball slipped past catcher A.J. Pierzynski. Ryan turned to argue the call as Pierzynski fired the ball to first for the final out.
Humber fell to his knees on the grass, much as the Yankees’ David Cone did at the end of his perfect game in 1999. The White Sox swarmed Humber on the infield, with starter Jake Peavy the first to reach the pile. An nike zoom hyperdunk 2010 injury to Peavy opened a spot for Humber in Chicago’s rotation last April.
