Lalitya Munshaw and Vinod Rathod at Music Launch of “Pehli Nazar”
Born to connoisseur parents with strong musical beliefs embedded deep into her family, Lalitya Munshaw grew up to become an artist with a clear inclination towards music. Lalitya is a consistent performing artist on the Indian as well as International circuit with critically acclaimed performance. Blessed with a serene and melodious voice, she has developed her own expressive style. With a classical training she forayed into Fusion, Film songs, Romantic Melodies, Bhajans, Children and Ghazals. Lalitya has received extensive formal training in Hindustani classical music which lead her to an Alankar (M.A) in music.As a live performer Lalitya Munshaw has had the privilege of working and recording with stalwarts like Hariharan, Ustad Sultan Khan, Anup Jalota, Pankaj Udas, Shivamani, Louis Banks, Ronu Majumdar, Neeladri Kumar and Abhijeet.
Her previously released albums include ‘Maika Piya’ (Fusion) with Ranjit Barot & Hariharan & ‘Rum Gaya Dil’ (Romantic). Her forte in the genre of devotional singing has been due to her deeply religious upbringing. She has a slew of releases of devotional albums namely ‘Aartiyaan’ & ‘Hare Ram Hare Krishna’ with Suresh Wadkar, ‘Krishnarpan’ with Anup Jalota & ‘Shri Krishna Janmotsav’ and ‘Guru Om’ – Spiritual album. Besides these ‘Halarda’ (Gujarati), ‘Lori’ (Hindi) & ‘Fusion Lounge’ with Ustad Sultan Khan & Ustad Rais Khan. Her forth coming albums are ‘Rab Piya’ (Sufi and Romantic) & ‘Gayatri Mantra’ (Devotional) Some of these albums have been released by Shri Morari Bapu, Shri Narendra Modi Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Shri Ravi Shankar and Celebs like Hema Malini and Rishi Kapoor.
In her endeavor and mission to preserve , enhance and popularize music it was natural progression that Lalitya established a music company called Red Ribbon Entertainment . Recently Red Ribbon launched a new Album ‘Pehli Nazar’ by Jitendra ji.
Shaan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Lalitya Munshaw, Vinod Rathod, Anuradha Paudwal, Shadhna Sargam and many others big names from the Indian music industry have given the melodious compositions a soulful touch. Ameen Sayani has given introduction of the album.
Padma Bhushan Shri Gulam Mustafa Khan was the Chief Guest.The singers gave live performances of their songs from the album that enchanted the audience. Versatile singer and performer and MD of Red Ribbon Lalitya Munshaw said, “We have tried to bring industry’s best voices together in one album. The music is simple yet contemporary, and will surely touch the hearts of the listeners”. Shaan agreeing to her comments, said “Pehli Nazar is a very romantic album.”
Lalitya would be contributing a part of the proceeds from the sale of the albums to NGO Antarang Charitable Trust to pursue its commendable activities. Antarang Charitable Trust is an organization that believes in facilitating Education, Health and Art where it is not available and affordable.
