Pentax K20D Review- Bestows a Lot OF Great Features
In this Pentax K20D review; we want to emphasize the 14.6 megapixel CMOS sensor of the Pentax K20D. In fact, this is the trademark of this DSLR camera and it follows the footstep of the Pentax’s well-praised K10D model. Its high megapixel resolution is actually made in tandem with the partner of the Pentax in DSLR camera development, the Samsung. This DSLR camera continues to use the respected K-mount of the Pentax which makes it compatible with an excellent array of K-, KA-, KAF, and KAF2 lenses. Besides, it is also compatible with a screw-mount, 645-system and 67-system lenses with an adapter.
To add to the earlier Pentax K20D review, the Pentax K20D reaches the excellent performance when it is coupled with the Pentax’s newest generation of SDM ultrasonic lenses. Well, one of the reasons why this is considered as one of the best DSLR cameras today is that it has a dust and weather resistant body along with the stainless steel chassis. Aside from that, the K20D also boasts some 72 seals that allow the user this camera is rainy and/or dusty environments. This sensor of this DSLR camera is placed on a free-floating and electromagnetically-controlled platter which has a capability to move horizontally, vertically, and even rotationally, thanks to its shake reduction system, this DSLR camera can now prevent the photos from being blur.
We also want to highlight in our Pentax K20D review that the Pentax K20D continues to use the dust reduction strategies which is capable of vibrating the sensor in order to remove the dust particles that was also employed in its predecessor, the K10D DSLR camera. The K20D is also packed with the dust alert function that helps more usual cleaning methods. How the K20D do that? Well, it simply shows exactly where the immovable dust particles reside on the sensor.
What’s more in our Pentax K20D review is that it also explains the fact that from the CCD technology of its predecessor, the Pentax K20D is packed with a CMOS sensor allowing it to use a more and more popular feature in most of the DSLR cameras these days, namely the Live View. Besides, this camera also features the higher ISO performance of maximum ISO 6400 by simply increasing the ISO 1600 maximum found in its predecessor. Above all, the K20D also boasts an abundance of custom image processing options which include the implementation of high dynamic range processing that aims to pull more detail from brightly-exposed areas of a photo.
The K20D also features the 8 white balance options from totally automatic to predetermined scene modes and a predetermined custom and direct Kelvin input. Speaking of the 8 white balance options, these are the Daylight, Shade, Cloudy, Fluorescent, Tungsten, and Flash. This camera also offers its potential users a built-in 5-mode pop-up flash that covers up to a 28mm angle of view. Besides, you can also find the hotshoe for mounting an external flash. And lastly, it is compatible with the SD and SDHC memory cards.
