Chevrolet Enjoy MPV to create new highs for Chevy
The American automobile maker in the country, General Motors (GM) has come a long way since the launch of its ‘Opel’ brand in India, with Opel Astra in 1995 to its latest ongoing sensation under ‘Chevrolet’ brand in the form of Chevrolet Beat. Now, the company is working out to prosper in its respective segments where it has its existence. The most recent case is the impending launch of its New MPV called Chevrolet Enjoy. Here, in this MPV segment, it already has an old horse known as Chevrolet Tavera, which is doing the duties quite well with its time-to-time upgrade. The globally leading auto firm now wants assortment within each segment. For instance, it has a choice Chevrolet Beat, Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet U-VA in the hatchback segment, while there are likes of Chevrolet Optra and Chevrolet Aveo along with Chevrolet Cruze in the sedan division. The same variety it wants to create in the MPV segment too, and that will commence with the launch of Auto Expo unveiled Chevrolet Enjoy MPV.
The showcasing of it at Delhi Expo won many applauds, as it provided with distinctive styling at the exteriors and some remarkably designed interiors also. This product will be basically the first one to come up with the alliance of GM-SAIC-Wuling. Here SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation) is GM’s Chinese partner, while Wuling is second largest automaker that has expertise in making vans and pickups for China. It is said that Enjoy will have resemblance to Wuling Sunshine MPV that has been achieving massive sales numbers since its launch in the country.
Now the launch expected by yearend is approaching, the MPV is seen doing testing rounds near its Bangalore based facility and Research & Development (R&D) center. As per some reliable reports it was spotted second time, since it’s unveiling at 2012 Auto Expo. The images of the test mule witnesses three AC vents on the dash along with none at the rear. This seems to be a cost effective measure taken into consideration by the company after the launch of Maruti Ertiga with an aggressive price tag of INR 5.89 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This new MPV is projected to play the role of junior, against the existing Tavera Neo3 MPV. The utility vehicle is sure to be introduced with diesel engine choice that is being manufactured at company’s Talegoan production faculty. The other promising launch this year will be the introduction of Chevrolet Sail sedan and hatchback.
