New Audi A4 launched at INR 27.33 Lakh to take on BMW 3 Series
Volkswagen Group subsidiary and second best selling luxury car maker; Audi, has launched its most affordable new saloon–‘Audi A4’– today in Mumbai. The New Audi A4 will now be made available with three engine choices that comprise of 1.8L petrol model priced at Rs 27.33 Lakh, 2.0L diesel-run model at Rs 29.38 Lakh besides an enormous 3.0L diesel Quattro version reads price label Rs 38 Lakh. All prices mentioned are of Ex Showroom, Maharashtra.
The 8th generation model now hits the Indian shores with its superlative 360 degree design language, which was up till now seen exclusively in Audi A8 and Audi A6 executive saloons.
Exclusive here, the New Audi A4 launch in India carries significant value from the standpoint that BMW is also geared up to unleash its New BMW 3 Series sedan in the country. As of now, Audi ranks 2nd with BMW in lead and this launch, prior to 3 Series sedan, is an attempt to dethrone its German counterpart in order to catch up the title of No.1.
The face lifted version Audi A4 features much enhanced exterior styling and dynamics along with well crafted interior design and above all best in class fuel efficiency.
Exteriors
The exquisite looking exteriors with new design language appear commanding yet magnificent from every angle. The front styling of New Audi A4 sees aggression in to picture with new 6-corner single-frame grille and removal of curvy pattern that is replaced by edgy design. The now sharper looking headlamps with LED strips continue to be a part of Audi design. The tail lamps see restructured work with LED strips together with tweaked front & rear bumpers. Whilst the overall dimensions of exterior panel, which look a bit bigger, get some or the other designing twists. The 2013 Audi A4 wheelbase measures 2.81 meters along with overall length of 4.72 meters that varies from variant to variant and width is 1.83 meters.
Interiors
Inside the cabin there is high quality material used to ensure premium-ness at its best along with numerous convenience elements. The newly designed steering wheel and better-quality dashboard along with elegant looking centre console functions bestows a feel of freshness. Engine
All the three power train are re-tuned for more power, lesser carbon footprint that makes New Audi A4 efficient by 10 percent against its competitors and predecessors.
The 1.8L TFSI engine churns 170bhp of power at 4500-6200rpm and 250 Nm of torque at 1500-4500 rpm. At the same time, the 2.0L TDI diesel engine churns out a sheer power of 143bhp at 4200rpm together with peak torque of 320Nm at 1750-2500rpm. Both these engines are coupled to a Multi-tronic transmission that supplies power to front wheels.
Last but not the least, the mammoth 3.0L diesel mill yields out 245bhp of raw power at 4000-4400rpm alongside 500Nm of top torque at 1500-3000 rpm. This is mated to a 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox transmission that put forwards the power to wheels via Audi’s Quattro Permanent All Wheel Drive mechanism.
